Highlights of the Southern Coasts Tours

You will be received by Yasumi Tours representative at the airport. Even though the distance between Colombo and Galle is approximately 146 km which is not much of a long distance it could take a while to actually reach Galle on the road due to the unpredictable traffic. Nevertheless, considering each passing moment as a new experience... you will pass through the coastal city of Mount Lavinia and many other resort towns such as Wadduwa, Kalutara, Beruwela, Bentota, Kosgoda, Ambalangoda, Hikkadduwa and finally Galle Moreover you also get a chance to observe the simple but friendly lifestyle of Sri Lankan locals.

After a good night`s sleep at the hotel, you will be taken to a once in life time experience i.e. whale watching. Visiting between December and April is the ideal season to spot blue whales; which is the largest animal on earth. Whale is a mammal that breathes in Oxygen and spouts out the water taken in through the blowhole on its head. Well by now you must be pretty excited to see this spectacle of blue whales.

After an incredible experience you are then in for another treat that is leisure walk to the Galle fort which presents you with a village that reminds of the age when Sri Lanka was a colony under the Portuguese. The fortified town of Galle has always been a significant trading port in the history to traders from alover the world. You could also visit the old Dutch Church, the Governor’s house, the spice warehouses, Court Square, the Kacheri (town hall), the lighthouse and on to the sea wall and ramparts.

After spending the night at Galle, you will be headed to Tangalle, a town located closer to Galle; offers you with a chance to scuba dive around coral reefs and also watch sea turtle nesting sites in Rekwana Turtle Conservation Projest.

These activities are recommended consume a couple of days, therefore on the 5 the day you will be taken Yala National Park or Bundala Wildlife Park and get a closer look at a diverse of animals such as deer, peacocks, elephants and even leopards and bears!

After enjoying breakfast you could either visit Hambantota town or go for a photo safari at Bundala game sanctuary.

Finally you will be taken back to Colombo where you get to enjoy the sleepless city of Sri Lanka and its attractive places such as the National museum, Viharamahadevi Park, Independence square in addition to the umpteen shopping opportunity.
